The Big 12 has been around for nearly 20 years, and it’s been around longer than the Big Ten.
Its first championship came in 2004, the year after the Big 12 expanded to 16 teams.
The league’s first title came in 2007, and the last one came in 2010.
The league is now owned by ESPN and has a TV deal that lasts through 2022.
Its five-year deal with Fox Sports expires in 2020, and there’s no indication that the network will renew it for another five years.
That makes it an attractive destination for a potential championship contender, though ESPN and Fox are already talking about what to do with the Big East after the 2021 season.
The next title-winner could be Iowa, who is already on the short list for the league title, along with Michigan State, Purdue and Minnesota (among others).
